Responsibilities

  • Aid in the writing and review of technical SOP’s, work instructions, and policies.
  • Familiarize themselves with the current SOP’s and work instructions that are active in the lab.
  • Familiarize themselves with the OEA Quality Assurance practices in order to perform duties.
  • Familiarize themselves with ISO 17025 standard as well as any other standards that affect the lab.
  • Analyze, test, diagnose, repair, and calibrate radiation detection equipment.
  • Extract and compile a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, processing data; identifying errors or inconsistencies and select the best methods of data presentation.
  • Operate complex electronic test equipment.
  • Have an understanding of the interrelationships of circuitry.
  • Analyze and interpret data generated in the lab by statistically analyzing and summarizing data using software provided.
  • Train technicians on calibration and repair procedures.
  • Maintain training records and schedules.
  • Research new calibration and repair procedures when needed.
  • Keep detailed records of experimental data.
  • Maintain equipment records as well as maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Manage lab inventory and procurement of new supplies and equipment when needed.
  • Provide any other laboratory support and assistance not listed in order to aid in mission accomplishment.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field, or Technical Certificate is acceptable.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with radiation and lab safety practices.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with writing technical SOP’s, work instructions, and policies.
  • Knowledge/and or experience with analyzing, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and calibrating equipment.

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the Science, Technology, Engineer, and Mathematics field is desired. Desirable elements will be considered a strength.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in conducting education and training on current and new lab procedures.

License - Certifications

  • BLS Certification
